Veterans Day/Poppy VASE ARRANGEMENT/Philly Pretzel Sale

🇺🇸Veterans Day Assembly

We will not be having our traditional Veterans Day assembly this year BUT WES CSC had the opportunity to meet with  Sgt. Donald Ductko, our very own 5th grade teacher Mrs. Rivera's Father, via Zoom on Thursday October 18, 2022.  He spoke to the CSC Students about his time in the Air Force and his time over seas.  Our Students had the opportunity to have a question and answer session with him, and they were able to learn and better appreciate what Military Families endure during their time serving our country.

🎼 A video, courtesy of Mrs. Lewis, will be pushed out to all students and faculty with recordings of our students singing grade level Veterans Day songs.

👖 Jeans Week Donation Collection for Breinigsville VFW - We collected and donated $200!

🔴 We Donated a beautiful poppy arrangement to the VFW, that Ms. Bosco helped our WES 5th Grade students make and prepare.  The VFW came and spoke to the WES CSC Members and had a questions and answer session, after presenting the vase of poppies.

6th Street Shelter Collection/Wreaths Across America/Philly Pretzel Sale

6th Street Shelter Collection

 Collected over 500 items for the 6th Street Shelter in Allentown, to help those Families in need.

🌿 School-Wide Event: Wreaths Across America (WAA)

Remember. Honor. Teach. Honoring our nation’s heroes. Wreaths Across America, is a non-profit organization that gives back to our fallen Veterans. Their mission is to pay tribute to those who have fought for our freedoms. With the support of volunteers, they lay Christmas wreaths on the graves of Veterans at cemeteries around our nation. 

On Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 12 Noon, the WES CSC will volunteer their time to help lay wreaths at the Resurrection Cemetery in Wescosville, PA. 

Total Sponsored: 103 (We surpassed our 100 wreath goal!)

SOUPer BOWL EVENT/VALENTINES DAY SOCIAL/PHILLY PRETZEL SALE

🥣 SOUPer Bowl Event

During the month of January, we hosted a school-wide SOUPer Bowl event.  Collecting canned goods and non-perishable items, which will be donation to Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank, a local food bank that serves Lehigh County.  We hope to exceed our 2019 collection of 1,950 donations.

Total Items Donated:  Over 800 pounds of Food

❤️ Valentines Day Social

The return of the WES CSC Valentines Day Social was a huge success!  We had over 600 people attend the event.

Got Lemonade? WES does! During our WES Parent/Teacher Conferences, our WES CSC members/parents, sold refreshing lemonade for $.50 per cup. All proceeds from our sale will go directly to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. (ALSF) 

Total Donated to ALSF: $648.00!!!
